Inspired by the Victorian Goldfields, this print showcases Australia’s favourite constellation, the Southern Cross, which was also the pattern used as inspiration for the flag at the Eureka Stockade. The Eureka Stockade resulted when gold miners in Ballarat, Victoria rebelled against the colonial authorities in December 1854.
The familiar grouping of 4 large stars and 1 small star in the shape of a cross is tossed across a jade green background. Australian designer Emma Jean Jansen drew on her childhood memories of growing up near abandoned gold mines and caves to design her newest fabric range, Eureka!
