Quilt For a Cause

If you would like to use your skills to help out those in need you may like to contribute to one or more of the worthy causes listed below.

WA Quilters’ Association Community Quilts

The WA Quilter’s Association (WAQA) Community Quilts program has been providing quilts to those in need for almost 40 years. Quilts are donated to groups such as the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Princess Margaret Hospital and Solaris Care, and also to victims of catastrophic events such as bush fires.

You can help out by donating fabric or wadding you no longer want, using donated fabric to make quilt tops, making one of their monthly blocks to contribute to a quilt top, participating in their bi-monthly Community Quilting Bees to help cut fabric and prepare quilt tops for quilting, quilting, binding or sewing on labels.

For more information or to get involved visit the WAQA website.

Aussie Hero Quilts

Aussie Hero Quilts (and Laundry Bags) began in 2012 as a way to give back to members of Australia’s defence forces serving overseas. These donations bring a little bit of warmth, comfort and ‘home’ to those who put their lives on the line every day.
